Hale originally created and bound "Inklings for Thinklings" herself for a benefit fundraiser for the Sanitation Commission in Boston in 1865. Containing numerous delightful illustrations from Hale. In the original decorative binding, with original, unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart. Some light markings to the boards of the dust wrapper and some light edgewear to the extremities. Some very light markings to pastedowns and recto of endpapers. Internally, firmly bound.
