Near Fine/No Jacket. iBorges (José Ferreira) Instituiçoens de direito cambial Portuguez, com referencias as Leis, Ordenaçoens, e Costumes das principaes praças da Europa acerca de letras de Cambio, first edition, errata leaf, ink presentation inscription to title, , contemporary mottled calf, gilt, spine richly so and with light orange morocco label, foot of spine joints very slightly split, upper cover little marked, [Innocêncio IV, 328], London, M. Calero, 1825. Library Hub shows only BL and Oxford. Borges (1786-1838) was a Portuguese economist, jurist and politician. He was a councillor of state under D. Pedro IV, but when an absolute monarchy was declared he was forced to flee to London, where he lived from 1823-1827. During this time he was an active member of Freemasonry.
