About This Item

In Catalan.

Cardboard boards, tanned spine, some corner-bumping and light soling of boards, external hinges cracked, internal sound; a little age-darkening, but all pages intact, clean and unmarked. Backstrip is beginning to separate, but the binding is sound. Numerous black and white photographic tissue-protected illustrations.

Founded in 1907 by the eminent Catalan nationalist, politician, author and lawyer Enric Prat de la Riba i Sarrà (1870 – 1917), the prestigious Institute for Catalan Studies publishes and fosters research in a number of fields, such as linguistics, history, sociology, philology, etc., primarily in the humanities and social sciences. It promotes all aspects of Catalan language, culture and identity.

This hard-to-find volume details the first 25 years of the Institute and the contributions of prominent Catalan nationalists, writers and scholars.
