About This Item

New York: Harper & Row, 1959. Cloth. Very Good +/Very Good +. A solid copy of the 6th printing of this 1959 second revised edition. Tight and VG+ (light offsetting at the pastedowns and endsheets, light foxing to the preliminaries) in a crisp, price-intact ("$4.95"), VG dustjacket, with light creasing and chipping along the spine crown, very light rubbing to the front panel and very light soiling at the rear panel. Also includes a small, vintage "Harper Blue Ribbon Book" seal at the foot of the jacket's front panel. Octavo, one of the unquestioned landmarks in early investment literature.

Synopsis

The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham, first published in 1949, is a widely acclaimed book on value investing, an investment approach Graham began teaching at Columbia Business School in 1928 and subsequently refined with David Dodd. Famous investor and billionaire Warren Buffett describes it as "by far the best book on investing ever written", a sentiment echoed by other Graham disciples such as Irving Kahn and Walter Schloss.
