Signed by the author in the month of publication on the leaf opposite the title, “Oscar Wilde/ May ‘91.” The inscription is faintly blotted onto the title page. The book was published on May 2, 1891 in an edition of 1500 copies, 600 of which were issued with the American Dodd, Mead imprint.
