Red original cloth, title on board and spine, illustrated original slipcase. One of 185 numbered copies, signed by Giles Barber, who wrote the introduction and by the author Peter Tucker. The illustrations by many famous artist who have interpreted Voltaire's classic, from the time of its publication up to the 1990ies. The frontispiece by Antoni Clavé, initials by Rockwell Kent,the illustrations range from Daniel Chodowiecki, to Paul Klee, Alfred Kubin, Guiseppe Mazzoni, Sylvain Sauvage, Brunelleschi, Hans Erni to Angela Barrett. The checklist lists 106 different items. With the prospectus laid in.
