Signed and inscribed by Ethel Matthews Casey, daughter of the author, matriarch of an iconic Texas ranching family. Inscription dated Nov. 19, 1974.This is the 3rd Edition, Number 13 in the M. K. Brown Range Life Series, with drawings by E. M. "Buck" Schiwetz. #139 - Jenkins Basic Texas Books, 1454 Thundering Herd, A.C. Greene's 50+ Best Books on Texas. 226 pp. Front end paper with map of Reynolds Bend has small red ink spot - else clean copy with slight right lean. Corners and spine ends have light wear. Top page edge has some foxing. Dust jacket is price-clipped with light chipping a little creasing on edges and a small closed tear. Spine has slight fading and rubbing on hinges, as do flap folds. Rear panel has listing of M.K. Brown Range Life Series books, with penciled checks by a few titles. Also a penciled two-line note across top of rear panel, and a few small spots on bottom of panel. 226 pp.
