The books are clean , no marks of any kind other than the name of a previous owner noted above . The hinges are tight on the four large books . The cloth on the boards shows light shelfwear to the edges . The graphics on the spines and front boards are bright . The gold gilt on the top page edges remains strong . Each book is illustrated and some of the pictures are published here for the first time . No dust jackets . An exceptional design and printing job by Houghton Mifflin .
