About This Item
Hardcover with dust jacket, published by Modern Library. Dating Modern Library editions can be tricky since the publisher did not include edition information on the copyright page. The Modern Library edition of this title was first published in 1950. From the list of titles available on the obverse of the dust jacket, 385 titles, this copy was published in Spring 1959. The classic book by the founder of psychoanalysis, in which Freud introduces his theory of the unconscious in the analysis of dream interpretation. Translated by Dr. A.A. Brill. 477 pages with Index, 5" X 7-1/8". The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. Jacket shows wear with creases, some chipping to the head and heel of the spine panel, wear the corners and edges. Original price of $1.65 printed on the top corner of the front flap. Modern Library book number 096.1. Jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. Light gray cloth covered cover boards. This copy uses the binding style known as 'Toledano #8', with the Rockwell Kent designed Modern Library torchbearer logo on the front cover board below the title field. Cover boards are flat, light wear to the very tips of the corners and to the head and heel of the spine. The front paste-down has a very narrow vertical crack at the spine gutter. Binding is intact and all pages are intact and tightly bound. There is a faded pencil mark on the first flyleaf page, horizontal mark about 2" long. Some pages have passages underlined in pencil, a few notes in pencil as well. Dark blue top-stain has a couple dots of fading. This is not a library discard copy, not a remainder copy. The attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
