XVI, 360pp., preface by editor, acknowledgements, list of illustrations, list of maps and index. Photographic endpapers, showing a panoramic view of Adelaide. Coloured photographic frontispiece, looking in a south easterly direction across Adelaide towards the Mount Lofty ranges. The text is illustrated with black-and-white and coloured photography, black-and-white illustrations and line drawings, maps and graphs. Green coloured boards with gilt writing on the spine. Slight fraying to the book corners and very slight bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine. Browning and foxing marks to the paper edges and there are some marks to the panels cloth. Taped to the ffep., is a review for the book. Very slight browning to the internal pages. Photographic dustwrapper, showing sane photograph as for frontispiece, with a blue background and red writing on the front panel and spine. Corners of the dustwrapper are chipped and there are chipping with loss to the top and bottom dustwrapper edges. The dustwrapper is rubbed, particularly along the edges, and there are some grubby marks as well. Grubby marks to the verso of the dustwrapper as well and there are stains to the bottom right hand corner of the back panel. An overview of South Australia in the late 1950s.
