Butterscotch cloth/boards with black lettering. No dj. xvi + 258 + v pp. with sections of 103 bw images between last two sections. Bw frontis. Folding bw map of Persia bound into back of book. Includes a preface, list of plates, introduction, list of principal monuments, historical table, and summary bibliography. Contents include architecture/architectural ornamentation, ceramics, book arts, carpets, textiles, metal, Persian gardens, minor arts, and sections on formative factors in Persian art, the expansion of Persian art, and "contemporary" ar in Persia and future prospects. Quite an enlightening study, illustrated with lovely bw plates. Published in NY by Scribner's but printed in Britain.
