About This Item
Edinburgh & London: William Blackwood & Sons, 1887. No author for this book of political cartoons is named, but it is George Roland Hackett (1855-1918), who did many such for Blackwood. This definitely has an anti-Fenian, anti-Gladstone, anti-Parnell point of view. Softbound, with ilustrated cover in green and black. Clean text; 30 pages, with topics such as "Parnell's Paid Patriots" and "Irish Crime." The opposing page has Hackett's black-and-white caricatures. There is no date, but per COPAC, it is 1887. The title page bears the chop of the Cambridge Union Society. There is a bit of minor chipping to the covers, which have ben protected with the addition of new paper endpapers.. First Edition. Soft Cover. Near Fine/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
