Crowell, 1911. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Canadian novelist Frank L. Packard used his early experience working as a civil engineer on the Canadian Pacific Railway as inspiration for his writing career. 8" x 5 ¾". Grey cloth boards with pictorial front cover featuring a navy blue train with orange cliff side, blue sky, and white titles. White titles and navy blue image to spine. Our copy is missing only the frontispiece but includes: Full title, copyright, dedication, contents, 1-343. Condition: Front cover vivid but paint has light scratches from shelfwear. Image on spine is faded. Bumped corners. Front free endpaper has been professionally replaced. Foxing to endpapers and a touch of foxing to the first third of the pages. Text is clean and unmarked.
