London: Chatto & Windus, 1929. First edition. Hardcover. g- to vg. Octavo. viii, 85 (1)pp. Original dustjacket over gray cloth with black lettering and ruling on white label of spine. Gray top edge. Set in a fictional castle Milne's play is considered to be an overt criticism of religious dogma encouraging the audience to take stock of their own religion and beliefs. Laid in two original bookmarks of the publisher Chatto & Windus. DJ darkened along edges with some wear along edges and spine, small chips, light scuffing on spine and 1/2 inch closed tear at lower back cover. Binding with minor wear along edges. Block uncut at foredge and bottom. DJ in overall good-, binding and interior in very good condition.
