The sheets are worn and unevenly toned. The last page is creased. The author's name is hand-typed on the last page.<br /> <br /> Most likely, this hand-typed manuscript is meant to be published in Novik magazine. The founder of the Russian Historical and Genealogical Society in New York, Leonid Mikhailovich Savelov, established 'Novik' as the Society's official publication, published from 1934-1963. Precious genealogical source on Russian nobility abroad.<br /> <br /> A memoir with a similar title, "From the Past," written by K. D. Benderov and dated 1939, appeared in the book "Russkaia Genealogiia v emigratsii: izbrannye stati zhurnala "Novik", published in 2018.
