London: Richard Bentley, 1839. Book. Illus. by Cruikshank, George. Very Good. Full-Leather. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. 3 volumes. From a description laid into volume I: "tan polished calf"... binding by "Riviere. Upon an original endleaf, bound in at the front of each volume, are the autograph initials of Edwin Landseer" (1802-1873), who was an English painter and sculptor, well known for his paintings of animals. Gilt titles and decorations; top edges gilt. Spines edges have been repaired and are solid. Wear to all edges of covers with leather worn through at corners. Some loss to leather at spine ends and spine surfaces. Interior is clean and unmarked. .
