About This Item
Raphael Tuck & Sons. Poor. Hardcover. Reading copy. Purple and black cloth boards. Gilt title, gilt drawing of a jackdaw on top of a structure. Pages are intact. Undated - two dates are on the front endpapers of former owners, one dated 1904, the other 1910. Back hinge is totally cracked; the book is held together by protective plastic laminate. This is a humorous story of a jawdaw who steals a cardinal's ring - the monks and the friars are on their hands and knees searching. Interesting fact is how this jawdaw was made a saint and canonized by the name of Jim Crow ! .
