Denmark 2001. Jacobsen (1912-1993) and fellow Danish artist Mortensen arrived in Paris during the summer 1947, after a challenging journey through devastated Germany. Both were determined to fight for the rebuilding of wartorn Europe, by way of their art. With his stark black iron sculptures, Jacobsen became a central figure in Paris new fertile environment.
