London: , 1912. One of a series of portraits of famous musicians issued by the Imperial Tobacco Company, founded by the Bristol tobacco manufacturers W. D. and H. O. Wills. Jacques Offenbach (1819-1880) was a German-born French composer, cellist and impresario. He is remembered for his operettas of the 1850's-1870's He was a powerful influence on later composers of the operetta genre, particularly Johann Strauss, Jr. and Arthur Sullivan. Mount size: 190 x 150 mm. Chromolithograph. Good condition.
