[New York]: New Directions, 1975. First edition, 8vo, pp. [8], 87, [1]; fine copy in a fine dust jacket. From the library of Allan Kornblum, poet, fine press printer, and publisher who founded Coffee House Press. This copy inscribed by McClure to Allan Kornblum: "Here in zero degrees F. St. Paul with warmth for Allan, Michael." McClure has also paraphrased a line from one of his poems: "The whirlpool is no doctrine when we're instruments that play ourselves." And, at the top of the title page McClure has drawn the face of a woman in profile.
