Extremities lightly worn, else G. James Hall, (1793-1868), was born at Philadelphia. He served in the War of 1812, and entered the legal profession at Shawneetown, Illinois, serving as judge. From 1833 to the end of his life he engaged in banking at Cincinnati and wrote constantly. He is perhaps best remembered for his collaboration with Thomas McKenney on the classic work on American Indians..
