About This Item

Norfolk: New Directions Books, 1941. Considered the most comprehensive volume of early Joyce criticism. This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the First Edition. Part of a series: "The Makers of Modern Literature." Gray cloth binding with black titling on the spine. Clean text; x, 240 pages; indexed. There are some very faint stains at the top of the rear cover; else this would be graded Fine. The iconic dustjacket is complete, with the price ($2.00) unclipped. It shows some wear, with chipped edges and a darkened spine. Interestingly, the publisher must have started the series at a lower price. IOn the rear panel, the original price ($1.50) is stamped over in red with the new price. In an archival plastic protector. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good (Plus)/Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
