About This Item
John Murray, 1885. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket as Issued. In original, stout burgundy cloth boards with gilt-blocked illustration of a press. Loss of brightness to gilt titling on the spine, which is rather faded and worn at head and foot. The front hinge is cracked with the front endpapers and portrait of Nasmyth with tissue protection forming a loose entity - as is the Nasmyth engraving titlted 'The antiquarian'. Otherwise the binding is sound. The text is unmarked.
