Concord, NH: William B. Ewert, 1993. First Edition. Christmas Token. Fine.. First Edition. Christmas Token. Illustrated by Thomas Bewick. Of a total of 150 copies this is one of a series of 100 unnumbered & unsigned. Measuring 7"x9.5", this was designed to be folded in half for mailing as a Christmas greeting and is grooved vertically in the center for this purpose (in this case it has not been folded). This copy is INSCRIBED by Updike to the publisher William B. Ewert and his wife, "for Bill and Mary Ewert / Merry Christmas! / John Updike / 11/26/97" PLEASE NOTE that all our First Editions are also First Printings, unless we specifically note otherwise. All our dust jackets are protected in clear mylar covers.
