Dark beige cloth hardcovers with dust jacket ; VG condition in VG- dustjacket; DJ dark beige with green letters; vinyl cover; minimal shelf wear around spine edges; small open tear on back DJ; top edge gilted; strong binding; external edges a bit dusty; a couple of pages with a very tiny dog ear; color frontispiece engraving; text clean, in fairly small print; pp. 541; contains chapters on Shinto, Buddhism and "the Jesuit Peril"; most popular of Hearn's books on Japan; See all five photos for details.
