This issue covers the 1939 World's Fair in a New York and, specifically, the Japanese Pavilion there. The magazine has collections of photos depicting life and special sites in Japan. The articles vary from picturing and describing successful businessmen, to a Japanese travelogue, to discussing Japanese- American relations. There is also a very interesting piece on Japan and America's symbolic flame of friendship that burned outside the Japanese Pavilion of the 1939 World's Fair. This is just two years before the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the United States and Japan go to war.
A rare and unique pre-World War II document.
From the library of noted military historian and community leader, Sheldon Goldberg. An avid scholar of military and aviation history, Sheldon served as a declassification specialist and Chief of the Reference Branch for the US Air Force, responding to such critical inquiries as OPERATION TAILWIND and the No Gun Ri controversy.
