Tokyo & Rutland: Charles E. Tuttle Company, 1959. First Edition/Fourth Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Good. Extremely scarce in cloth with jacket. By the trailblazing Japanese mystery writer, Edogawa Rampo whose pen name was inspired by Edgar Allen Poe. A big influence on popular culture, he inspired anime, manga, online games and movies. In pictorial paper covered boards with bright gilt to black spine. Light wear to spine ends. Sharp corners, clean interior and solid binding. Jacket is price-clipped at dotted line, but US price of $2.50 still present. Edgewear to panel and spine ends with some rubbing at corners. One inch tear to bottom of rear panel with associated creasing. Three shorter tears to top edges and head of spine.
