Study of Japanese art incorporating ghosts, demons, and other supernatural & grotesque motifs, a subject typically only skimmed in the usual publications; including prints, paintings, and sculpture. Text in German, with mostly quite well-reproduced plates in b/w & color, some double-page. Stout hardcover, tan calf spine & corner tips over green paper-covered boards. Light wear to book, but water stain to head of spine affecting jacket & book, minor waterstain to front cover, some splitting to inner hinges; some of the color plates are a bit off-register; slipcase rubbed & chipped, with part of the spine label chipped off. Text clean; [12], 63 pages, blank, 142 tissue-guarded plates, of which 45 are in color. Text in German.
