About This Item

London: George Routledge & Sons, c1875. Leather. Very Good Indeed. 6.5" by 4". None. A smart new edition of this novel by Royal Navy Officer, Frederick Marryat. A new edition. A novel following the efforts of a child deserted by unknown parents, known as a "foundling," to find his father. Through his many exciting adventures, the reader is left with a commentary on spiritual paternity as opposed to biological. Written by Captain Frederick Marryat, an British Royal Navy Officer, novelist, and acquaintance of Charles Dickens. Bound in full straight grained morocco. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. The odd mark to the board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light spotting to the endpapers. Pencil inscription to the front endpaper. Very Good Indeed
