About This Item
London: Smith, Elder, and Co, 1848. Hardcover. Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition. Includes numerous vignette wood engravings and illustrated half-title page. Attractively bound in contemporary three quarter tan leather over marbled paper covered boards with gilt title and author labels to spine. Author label reads: "Leigh Hunt's Works" implying that this is one of several volumes; however, there is no indication within the interior that this was ever part of a set. Gilt decoration and raised bands to spine with full marbled edges. Minor rubbing and wear to hinges, corners, and edges of boards. Slight dampstain to margins of bottom corners of last few pages and occasional smudge marks to margins, else clean and bright. 200 pages. LIT/011221.
