Five plates and a cul-de-lampe produced in colors from wood engravings by Gerard Angiolini in the style of 18th century Persian miniatures. Text printed in black, every page with decorative surrounds in tan hues of animals and foliage. Bound in green silk with gilt titles, t.e.g. Saadi was a medieval Persian poet. The Jardin Des Roses first appeared in 1257.
