Hardback, 1893, second edition (first published 1891), illustrated, published by Macmillan and Co., London, 576 pages + xxvi + 4-page publisher catalogue at rear.
Crown octavo/8vo, measures around 7 5/8" by 5 3/8" by 1 1/2". Dark green cloth binding, gilt emblem and detail to front board, gilt lettering and detail to spine. Some scuffing and marking but reasonably clean. Clear signs of rubbing, shelf-wear. Bumped and slightly torn corners. Book has forward tilt. Some slackness to binding but book contents intact. Some foxing, scuffing and marking to page edges, upper edges gilt. Intermittent foxing to page surfaces, some are very clean whilst others are foxed. Previous owner names inscribed to half-title and title pages but book contains no underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information.
