Boston: Little, Brown, 1867. First Edition. While the title page notes it as “Part Second,” this is a single volume work, a continuation (or sequel) to 1865’s Pioneers of France in the New World. BAL 15455. Publisher’s cloth; very minor cloth wear; a fine copy. Presentation copy; inscribed by the author to a family member, “M.E.P. kind regards of F.P. May 26, 1867.” With the book label of Mary Eliot Parkman inside the front cover. Publication day was sometime in mid or late May, and the BAL notes another copy inscribed a day later, on May 27, 1867.
