Binding has remained firm. Pages 107-110 are detached. Stamps to front endpaper. Hinges have been reinforced with tape. Boards have been moderately rub worn, with noticeable shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are bumped and a little frayed and spine ends are crushed, with small splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Moderate to heavy spotting to the front/back matter and book block edges. Light scattered foxing to some of the interior pages. Light edge wear/bumping to the cloth covers.

James Keir Hardie (1856-1915) was a Scottish trade unionist and a founder of the Labour Party. Because Hardie did not leave a diary or many letters, the author drew from Socialist and Labour publications to write this biography of an important British political figure. A scarce edition. In Fine Condition: clean and tight.
