Francofurti [i.e. Frankfurt]: Apud Joannem Wechelum, 1585. 143pp, [1]. Later blind-ruled calf, morocco lettering-piece to spine. Lightly rubbed, spine sunned. Leaves lightly browned. The revised edition of French physician Jean Fernel's (1497-1558) collection of consultations on special medical cases, including chapters on syphilis, tumours, toothache, plague and fevers, to mention a few only. Fernel was professor at the Sorbonne, and became Physician-in-Chief to King Henri II. The present essays, posthumously edited Guillaume Cappe, were not included in his Universa Medicin printed some years earlier. Not in Adams. . 8vo.
