London and new Castle : The British library & Oak Knoll, 2001. Book. Illus. by profuse Bewick wood engravings and other illustrations. Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Fine red cloth with a fine dust jacket with the slightest wrinkle along the top. This is the American first edition, but it was printed in England and is identical to the UK first. The less famous brother, jJohn apprenticed with Thomas Bewick , then moved to London. The book includes a thorough, annotated catalogue of John's illustrations and designs. The Bewick brothers remain an inspiration to wood engravers. .
