Offered as the entire series of the Dusty Ayres books as issued by Corinth Regency in 1966, reprinting fantastic stories of a near-future war, first published in the 1930's pulp magazine. Comments on each book follow (my highest rating is near fine, as no used book is perfect). Black Lightning has a 2 inch faint cover crease (actually more of a partial bend, the surface is not cracked), a tiny spot of red on the front cover bottom edge, appears unread, and is near fine. Crimson Doom has small bumps to the spine bottom and one corner, very minor spine edgewear, appears unread, and is near fine. Purple Tornado is close to flawless, appears unread, and is near fine. Telsa Raiders has a tiny crease to the front cover bottom, a tiny corner bump, some edgewear, and is VG+ to near fine. Black Invaders has just a trace of edgewear on the front cover bottom edge, appears…

These 9 volumes are ALL the Wyndham books published by Ballantine, and, to be clear, are ALL the first Ballantine paperback printings. Of the 9 volumes, 4 are also first edition paperback originals (Re-Birth, Chocky, Tales of Gooseflesh and Laughter, The Infinite Moment), the other 5 volumes had earlier UK hardcover editions. Several had simultaneous Ballantine hardcover printings. Lucas Parkes is listed as the co-writer of The Outward Urge, but, as Parkes is just another pseudonym, of Wyndham/Harris, he essentially wrote it with himself. Out of the Deeps (1953) has modest edgewear and is a near fine to fine unread copy. Re-Birth (1955) has some spine edgewear, an almost invisible corner crease, and is an unread near fine to fine copy. Gooseflesh and Laughter (1956) is an unread fine copy. Midwich Cuckoos (1958, Canadian printing) has a slight spine tilt, spine and reading creases, and is VG. Outward Urge (1959) has a reading crease but appers unread, a near fine copy. Trouble with Lichen (1960) is an unread fine copy. Infinite Moment (1961) has 2 bumps to the front cover top edge, appears unread, and is near fine. Chocky (1968) has very faint spine and reading creases, and is near fine. The much later (1986, Canadian printing, from Ballantine Del Rey) Day of the Triffids has edgewear, tiny corner creases, small back cover tear, former owner name inside, and is VG to VG+. A sharp, COMPLETE set of Wyndham Ballantine first paperback printings.. Later and/or First Printings. Mass Market Paperback. Near Fine. Illus. by Richard Powers, Robert E. Schulz, Paul Lehr, R. Courtney (front covers). Note: our prices on Biblio are the LOWEST of any of the sites on which we list our books.
