About This Item
New York: Simon and Schuster, 1968. Third printing. Hardcover. Good/fair. Red cloth hardcover with bronzed spine lettering, in dustjacket, third printing. A good copy, clean and unmarked inside. Binding and hinges are sturdy. Externally, bending at the corners and spine tips, and a scuff to the cloth of the front cover from the top edge center. Top edge of the textblock dyed red. The dustjacket is only fair - $6.95 price intact at the bottom of the front flap, but the panel edges are chipped and torn with a long closed tear corresponding to the scuffing on the cloth of the front panel and a shorter open tear at the rear panel spineward. 5047 printed on the bottom of the rear dustjacket panel. 302 pp., indexed, including a list of victims of the flood. McCullough went on to be a much beloved historian and biographer - this was his first book.
