New York, 1917. First printing. Poster. Very good condition overall. A W.W.I. recruiting poster displaying a two-man biplane with American and French markings on a red sky background with two uniformed spotters in the foreground and is signed and dated "J. Paul Verrees 1917" in the lower right corner.

Many were eager to join the war effort, (40,000) and war posters were an exciting way to inspire young recruits in World War I. Some 15,000 of whom would go on to complete their training and serve This 1917 poster was created to recruit young aviators to serve at the Front in the nascent Army Air Service.

38 1/2 X 25" (63 x 98 cm) framed archivally in a larger frame. Some period folds, thumbtack holds in corners, faint recruiting office stamp visible from Massachusetts. Overall, very bright condition.
