About This Item

London: Methuen & Co. Ltd, 1971. FIRST EDITION, INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR. 8vo. Original pink cloth, spine lettered in silver. Edges toned, top edge spotted. Inscribed in blue ink to title page: "To dear Leigh, Looking forward to next year's meeting. With love & get well [?], Jilly Cooper". One-page, undated, hand-written letter, on Associated Book Publishers Ltd-headed paper laid in: addressed to "Dear Reggie" and informing the interviewer that Cooper was expecting his call. Else, tight and tidy. In the original pink illustrated dust jacket, featuring a gleeful Cooper: creased, edgewear, a few nicks. Very good/ very good A pleasing copy of Cooper's "more famous pieces" for the Sunday Times, including 'The Wages of Gin', A Bitches's Inventory,' and 'On Sexy Men,' inscribed to the BBC interviewer and actor, Leigh 'Reggie' Crutchley.
