The Life and Death of the Late Jonathan Wild, the Great is a satiric novel by Henry Fielding, published in 1743. It tells the story of the life of London underworld boss Jonathan Wild ("Thief-Taker General"), from his birth in 1682 to his execution in 1725. Field took the opportunity to satirize English society; it is highly entertaining.
