Faded gilt lettering on the spine. Front hinge weak. Coloured ffep is missing, 2nd front endpaper an title page have a small stain. Page edges foxed. Interior pages are clean, binding is tight. The author's impressions of the country, society and people, during his time in the antebellum south. Many of these sketches were first published in his columns in the Battle Creek Journal. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
