Identically marbled pastedowns & leaf edges. . First two fold out maps each with one 2" folding line tear. Many other one page or in text b/w maps. Spine with 5 gilt ruled raised ribs. Gilt title lettering on 2nd panel. Vol # and date (1/1885) on 4th panel. Tight binding. Book tends to stay closed when stood on spine. Cover edges & extrems worn. The first article is a 20 pager by Stanley titled: "Central Africa and the Congo Basin; or, the Importance of the Scientific Study of Geography". .
