Quarto (7" x 10-1/2") bound in full natural burlap with a gilt-lettered crimson leather spine label, the front cover an "x" Plague symbol printed in crimson and the rear with the date 1665 printed in crimson; 618 pages. Introduction by James Sutherland. Defoe's account of the Great Plague that hit London in 1665. Illustrated by Domenico Gnoli with 8 full-page color plates and numerous black-and-white text illustrations, some rather harrowing. Copy #894 of 2000 SIGNED by the artist on the colophon page. Monthly Letter laid in.
