All volumes bound uniformly in blue cloth with gilt decoration to front boards and spines; each illustrated throughout with black and white plates, many folding. Volume III in 2 stout volumes, chart of Cook's voyages loosely included in rear of Part 2; CHARTS & VIEWS. Drawn by Cook and His Officers and Reproduced from the Original Manuscripts. Edited by R.A. Skelton. Portfolio with string tie, in the uniform blue cloth with gilt decoration, and with the dust wrapper. Bookplate of Martin Torodash in all volumes, with his ink signature on the pastedowns and at head of title-pages. Also, tiny signature of J. Newlove 1989. on pastedowns. Wrapper on the "Charts" volume creased, 3 rows of tape residue (as that was the only way of closing), missing large piece of lower rear corner. Very tiny manufacturer's defect in vol. 3, part 1 pg. 705 affecting the beginning letters of 4 words near the gutter (still readable). Overall, a very good plus, clean, bright, square complete set.
