About This Item

A. Strahan. Poor with No dust jacket as issued. 1825. 24th edition. Hardcover. Four (of the five) are hardback volumes bound in matching full light brown calf with gilt titles on red & green spine labels, 5 raised bands, dentelles at edges. Volume three is the 25th edition of 1830, and is in original card wraps, page edges untrimmed, partly uncut. All 4 leather bindings are worn and the boards are off as follows - vol 1 both off, vol 2 rear board off, vol 4 both still attached, vol 5 rear board off. Both the spine labels are missing from vol 5, and the 'volume' label is missing from 1 - most of 2, and part of that to 4, are still present. The first three leaves of vol. 1 are bound in upside down. Volumes 1 and 2 have George Chetwynd's heraldic bookplate on the pastedowns and there is an old inked note on the front endpaper of vol 5, else they are internally unmarked. Would benefit from some TLC - but priced accordingly. Heavy set, near 7kg unpacked - usual postage rates may not apply to all destinations .
