Hinges are cracked but boards are still firmly attached. Last pages had been torn out, hand sewn into book - in incorrect order. Good research copy.

A thick hardcover book bound in full golden-brown leather with marbled endpapers and foredges. Cover scuffed all over, and edges of spine worn. Vertical crease down the middle of the spine, which has a call number label at the bottom. Various library markings inside, but text itself clean, and binding tight. However, the covers should be handled gently so they don't crack off.

Boston: Gould, Kendall Ad Lincoln, 1842. Octavo. 12pp. publisher's ads at front, frontispiece, viii, [9]10-276pp., 27 full page illustrations at rear. Improved by appropriate questions for the examination of scholars; also by illustrative notes and a dictionary of philosophical terms. This work is for the student and this edition has been introduced into the female department of the publick(sic) schools in Boston. A very good copy bound in full calf, flat spine ruled in gilt, black morocco spine label gilt, previous owner's name on front endpapers dated 1845 and name stamped on covers, some off-setting to title page, some occasional toning to leaves but mostly clean.
