About This Item
Wuppertal.: Verlag Kalender., 1961. Black and white illustrations. A survey of avant-garde art printed on a long scroll (measuring 11.5 x 240 cm) of glossy white paper, mounted together from 3 sheets. Includes original contributions and reproductions of works of art by Piero Manzoni (Achrome, 15 x 10 cm), Yves Klein (Anthropometrie, 10 x 6 cm), Cy Twombly, Lucio Fontana, Ben Patterson (Duo for Voice and Strings), Emmett Williams, Hiltmann, P. Talman, Jean Tinguely, Heinz Mack, Raoul Hausmann (Tolbes + Soundreel), H. Busse, O. Holweck, Ebeling, Belloli, Dietrich, Claus Bremer, Uecker, Piene, Diter Rot (2 contributions), Arman, Vostell, Dufrene, and Franz Mon. This publication inspired numerous Fluxus scrolled publications, including the Fluxus Preview Review roll, and Emmett Williams’ Alphabet Piece (1963). This copy appears to be a surplus publisher’s copy, as instead of being housed in the usual cardboard mailing box, is instead presented on its own, with the roll sealed tight with the publisher’s adhesive information label.
