(Amsterdam: Scheltens & Giltay, no date). Squarish 8vo; original olive green cloth, lettered in gilt on spine and upper cover; pictorial dustwrapper; endpaper map; pp. 219 + (iv); plates. Dustwrapper rubbed and edgeworn, with archival tape repairs to reverse; endpapers a little foxed; regular browning throughout; some light foxing. Good. Dutch text. Dr Paul Julien (1901 - 2001) was a Dutch traveller and anthropologist, whose popular works relate his experiences among primitive peoples in central Africa during the years immediately prior to, and after, the Second World War. .
