Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for a gift inscription on the FFFP Secretary to the Superintendent in Wellington , KS dated 1961. Book Condition: Very Good +; light shelfwear to board bottoms; light bumping to head and tail. DJ: Good +; Price Clipped; wear and missing small pieces at head, tail, and tips; edge wear to top and bottom of DJ. Khaki cloth boards and spine with black lettering in a cream shadowbox on the spine. 417 pp 8vo. The author attempts to correct the usual writing that ends Kansas history with the firing on Fort Sumter as the state really has a very rich history that predates Jamestown by half a century. The author gives presentation to the prehistory stage, the Civil War period, the cattle towns, the Progressive era and William Allen White, World War I, the dust bowl and great depression, the post World War II era and the growth of big agro and aviation. A clean copy very presentable copy.
